Use the search bar at the top to type your representative's name, or filter by your state using the state dropdown. You can also narrow results by role (Senator, Representative, or Governor) and party affiliation.
How are officials scored?+
The Accountability Index is the only score we publish for an official. It is computed from filings rather than opinion: STOCK Act transaction reports and how promptly they were filed, roll-call participation, annual financial disclosures, and FEC receipts. Every component links to its source, and the index is withheld when coverage is too thin for a single number to mean anything. The editorial integrity score that used to appear here has been retired — it aggregated a hand-set judgement about which way each vote counted, which is not something we should have published as a measurement. The methodology page explains what is counted.
How are voting records tracked?+
We pull official roll-call votes from Congress.gov and state legislative databases and match each one to the key votes we track. Votes are grouped by freedom topic so you can see what a member actually did on the issues that matter to you. We show the vote and link the official record; we do not label it a good or a bad vote.
Do you give officials a freedom score?+
No. States are scored across ten freedom categories, but we publish no freedom score for an individual official. Scoring one would mean deciding which way each of their votes counts, and we have no sourced, reviewed rubric applied to member votes yet — so we publish what they did rather than a verdict on it. The score officials do get is the Accountability Index, which is computed from filings.
